Current infrastructures tend to be elastic and service-oriented, so there is the need to keep track of what is happening across multiple services in real-time. This has become a daunting task for companies of all sizes. Asterisk as a component ( media server ) of a broader solution is no longer limited to extension counts but to all sorts of different services, and keeping track of assets and usage has gained a new level of complexity. We would like to share our experience with Apache Kafka in trying to bring the entire company as close to real-time accountability as possible, by processing streams.
