There are lots of thinks you have to consider when building up a carrier grade PBX. There are wholesale carrier, phone number provider, regulations and as well there is a legacy phone system we have to migrate. With all this in mid you cannot just have any developer work on telephony features. In order to get there, we have to ensure even with no knowledge about e.g SIP Header or Lawful interception people can work on a system without breaking it. Using AGI for a routing control and ARI for an in-call control we can split up lots of these thinks. I will show how we try to empower and at the same time not overload people. The take will give an idea how a setup with several Asterisk connected to Kafka based call controller using ARI might look like. As well as giving control over one call with several call legs using more than one Stasis App and a couple of AGI Scripts involved. To understand this talk it is helpful to know the capabilities and differences from AGI and ARI as well as basic Call handling in Asterisk.
